What Is The Indentation In Calf Muscle?

About a year ago I noticed that my right calf muscle is indented and smaller in circumference than my other calf. It doesn't hurt, but the skin over the depressed area is slightly red. I used to be a mail carrier and walked a lot. I occasionally get severe toe cramps in that same leg. Is this something I should be concerned about.
