What Is The Indication Of Redness, Swelling And Pain In The IV Administration Site?
I was admitted in hospital for 5 days due to viral fever.I was administered IV during these days. Now there is swelling and pain at the vein where the IV had been.I applied THROMBOPHOB(ointment of heparin and nicotinate). But as soon as I apply it,the redness and swelling increases and i also feel irritation. What is the problem??
Hi, from history it seems that you might be having thrombophlebitis at the site of IV infusion site. Continue with applying Thrombophob. Apply ice pack 2-3 times a day for few days. Go for one antibiotic medidicne course for 3-5 days. Ok and take care.
