What Is The Irregular Brown/pink Discharge?

Hi there, I'm a teenage girl and I was expecting my period this past monday. I was very stressed because I wanted to get it before my vacation friday, and that's probably why I didn't get it on time. I got brown/pink discharge wednesday, and it continued today. Today I noticed that for a very short time, I had red (normal) but then went back to the brown/pink. I normally get heavy periods for 5-6 days. Is this just a light period?
