General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The situation as you have described it is not good, gangrene is definitely a life-threatening problem, though high-grade antibiotics could be tried it is only possible in the initial stage of infection. Having Alzheimer's along with that doesn't make it sound better.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Haleema Yezdani, General & Family Physician
