What Is The Life Expectancy Of Patient With CHF And Bowel Incontinence?

I am a private duty care-taker for a 84y/o woman, has CHF, 4+ pitting edema bil ankles/feet, dry hacking cough, O2 sats 92%, appetite: maybe eats 1 good meal/day, eats bits of others meals of day, weak, total assist w/ transfer to wc/commode/bed and so forth, occasionally confused about routine duties. She chooses to not do anything all day/night....sleeps, watches silent tv (hard of hearing), eats, continent of urine (usually) and bowels. I do not know the date of initial diagnosis. From the signs/symptoms I have provided, are you able to give me a ballpark figure of life expectancy? Thank you! Jill

* As per my clinical experience, the life expectancy depends upon multiple clinical parameters.

* As the patient is maintaing oxygen saturation of 92 %, eating good meal per day with occasional confusion, prognosis with life expectancy can be considered in terms of weeks to months.

* However, it is best recommended to discuss the same with her treating physician.
