What Is The Life Expectancy Of Someone With Prostate Cancer?

My boy friend just found out he has Prostate Cancer , I really don t know much about this, I m confuse and afraid of losing him, I don t know the stage he is in, we will find out sometime this week, I guess depending on the out come how long does someone with Prostate Cancer can live for? is their hope for people like him? again I m not sure we re we stand yet in the stage. I guess what I m asking you is with treatment and all can he live a long life?

Life expectancy of any form of cancer would depend on the following:

1. Staging of cancer - extent of organ involvement and spread of cancer to other organs.
2. Response to the treatment. Also, regular follow-up would be necessary with maintenance dose of certain medications to keep the cancer cells under check and prevent its spread. Kindly take the treatment as recommended by your treating doctor and hope for the best.
