What Is The Life Expectancy When On Morphine Patches For A Fib?

My mother is now on morphine patches. I don't know whether it's 100 mg. or more. She has A Fib and osteoarthritis which has left her in a wheel chair. She is 94. I am an only child. How close is she to the end? Should I get myself on a plane now?

Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

Morphine is a pain medication, it is not used for atrial fibrillation. It is possible that the doctor is prescribing it for the osteoarthritis.

There are complications associated with atrial fibrillation such as heart attack or stroke but it would be very difficult to predict when these would occur.

You should consider speaking to her doctor for an assessment of her condition.

I hope this helps
