What Is The Meaning Of Degenerative Disc Contusions In MRI Of Lower Lumbar And Pelvis?
I had an mri on my lower lumbar and pevis. I was told that I have degeneratvie disc contusions. I don t fully understand what that is. A contusion is brusing or injury to me so that doesn t make sense. Can you further explain what that means? The recommendation is possible Physical Therapy?
Degenerative disc disease is normal wear and tear that the intervertebral discs suffer with time. It happens throughout the entire skeletal framework but more in the upper neck and lower spine. If you are quite young ( Physical Therapy or Physiotherapy under a trained therapist is the normal recommendation, better than continuous oral pain killers.
Best Wishes.
