What Is The Meaning Of Heart Is Working Only 35 Percent
If a person's heart is working at only 35 percent what does that mean? All the answers I get are about relationships, I could swear I put this in health and medcine then heart.

I am talking from experience. Having a ejection fraction (Medical term is E.F. rate ) below 35% is not good news for a person. It is a sign of a weakening heart muscle. My E.F. rate got down to 20 % with my cardiomypathy (Enlarged heart muscle). Since my heart muscle weakened rather rapidly I was a
candidate for a heart transplant. The transplant was performed last June of 2006 and my E.F. rate is at 60 % now. This new E.F. rate is considered normal. The only drawback is I am on immuno-suppressant drugs for the rest of my life to prevent rejection of my new heart.

The working of heart is considered as the capacity to pump the blood to the body and is calculated as Ejection fraction of the Left Ventricle(as it is responsible to supply blood to the other parts of body.The ejection fraction can reduce due to diseases like cardiomyopathy;myocardial infacrt(heart attack);as a result of some specific viral infections;infective endocarditis.etc.If the ejection fraction is around or above 60% then you are fine and can do any sort of work but if it reduces below 40% then the person cannot work upto full capacity like he will become breathless while climbing stairs easily;cannot walk long distance due to weak heart muscles.So if the heart is working 35% then it is becoming weak and the person will get easily tired and breathless even after doing work which otherwise would have been easy for him.
