What Is The Meaning Of "fluid In POD" Seen On An Ultrasound?
Dear Doctor yesterday i had ultrasound of my abdomen. report shows there is 'mild free fluid in POD likely physiological' what does it mean? I am SLE patient. feeling pain for in stomach for last 1 month. My last manstrual cycle date was 16th August and ultrasond date was 12th sept.
POD (Pouch of Douglas) indicates a natural pouch-like sac of peritoneum in the pelvic region. It is completely normal to find moderate amount of pelvic fluid getting accumulated in the POD. It is no cause for worry.
