Partial empty sella and prominence of the Meckel s cave bilaterally. The intracavernous ICAs are mediately deviated in the sellar region (kissing arteries). Multiple scattered spotty area of T2 hyperintensity located in the periventricular and subcortical white matter, most related to microvascular ischemic changes. Mild cerebral atrophy. I m sorry I have to write so much, but I don t have a clue what this means. Thanks in advance for your help. I transferred to this page from another source. I didn t know you had to pay for answers. Hello there.,

Findings related to the carotid arteries there are purely anatomic and could be just normal variants. As long as there is no obstruction in this structure, there will be no immediate need for correction.
High T2 signal in the periventricular areas signify old small infarcts, due small vessel atherosclerotic changes related to aging. Cerebral atrophy which is mild means a slight loss of brain volume but not necessarily loss of capacity. Advancing age cause normal expected atrophic changes and should not be a cause of alarm.
