Hello,
A stress test or exercise test done to evaluate the heart and vascular system to know about coronary artery disease ( CAD) present or not. As CAD can be easily missed on physical as well as on ECG when patient is at rest. Coronary artery supply muscle of heart and if there is presence of only partial blockage then it will transfer all the available blood to the muscle at rest but when a stress condition is there then they will not be able to supply fully leading to ischemic heart attack. stress test may also measure heart rhythm and blood pressure simultaneously. Periodic stress test is necessary to monitor progress of patient with congestive heart failure. So, keep your blood pressure in control and follow the instruction of your doctor.
Thank you for consulting HCM.
