Radiologist 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

Sometimes there persist small doubts in the appearances of various breast lesions on mammography. These need to have a closer look so that an opinion can be given confidently on it. A magnifying view gives more image detail and interpretation will be more accurate in such a situation. Magnification views are commonly used to further elucidate suspicious changes seen on routine mammograms. Research has shown that magnification views are useful to help surgeons and radiologists best screen for breast cancer. It can help avoid unnecessary biopsy and surgery.
