What Is The Need To Take Fertigny 5000 Injection Once A Week During Pregnancy?
Hi doctor, I am at the early stage of pregnency i.e., 7th week. My ultrasound scan report says everything as normal . My doctor advised me to take fertigyn 5000 injection weekly once. May I know what for this injection is? And how long should I take this injection? Do you foresee any complications/problems in my pregnency? and i suffered previous miscarriage, have spotting in early pregnancy.
Hello Thanks for writing to us with your health concern. There are two reasons why the doctor would have prescribed this injection for you - 1. The first is that you have had previous miscarriage. 2. The second reason is the spotting which you had in early pregnancy. Fertigyn contains hormones which support the growing pregnancy. As yours is a high risk pregnancy, please take the injections as prescribed They can be stopped after the first trimester is over. There should be no complications, as the cardiac activity should be visible by now. Still, take rest, avoid stress, intercourse and jerky travelling. Take all medications without skipping. Please take daily folic acid tablets and progesterone as supportive. All the best
