Hello. Thank you for your question and welcome to HCM. I carefully read your query.
A blood pressure of 130/90 mmHg is considered within normal ranges. A cholesterol of 7.3 mmol/L, however, is considered high. Yes, cholesterol is an independent and important risk factor for
cardiovascular disease, but there are not parameters that can surely confirm at what age you will get the attack, as it may also never happen. There are various risk scores that calculate the probability you have a
heart attack or a
stroke in the next certain amount of years. One of them, which you can find online and calculate your risk, is the Framingham risk score. I suggest you to immediately take measures to reduce your weight. This can be achieved by more physical activity, a 60-minutes a day activity such as brisk walking, jogging, hiking or biking, and by removing animal fat from the diet, and cook with olive oil. Other measures that should be taken are: not skipping your meals, especially breakfast, have more vegetables and fruit - up to 300 grams a day, reducing your alcohol intake to a beer a day if you drink, eating the white of an egg and not the red, less red meat and more fish and chicken. If you are over 45 years of age, starting on a cholesterol-lowering agent is advisable. Three months after you have undertaken these measures, you have to run a blood
total cholesterol,
LDL and
HDL fraction and triglycerides levels. If you are going to start a cholesterol-lowering agent, also AST and
ALT should be checked.
I hope I was helpful with my asnwer. Best regards.
