What Is The Numbness In My Toes After A Disc Herniation?

I have an L4-L5 central disc herniation with L5 nerve root compression on both sides. I have numbness in my left foot and toes for almost 6 months now. Will this get better or is it going to get worse, I am afraid of getting numbness on my right foot also?
