What Is The Pain In The Tongue At The Piercing Site?
Hi, I am 18 years old, Female, and i ve had my tongue pierced for a while now. This morning I woke up with an irritating pain on the side of my tongue, and it feels hard to the touch. My tongue did this during the healing proccess of getting it pierced; forming a hard lump around the piercing; however it is far passed the healing time and I ve been healed for a while. This pain is random and I just need to make sure its nothing serious. The pain is bearable but will intensify if I attempt to prod or touch the area. Seems to have calmed down throughout the day but I still feel pain that shouldnt be there at all.
Hello Sometimes an ulcer on the tongue starts like a bulge or small swelling which is very tender and painful. Usually it will remain for a week or ten days as an ulcer and will heal on its own. If it doesn't even after 2-3 weeks you need to get it checked by a dentist or ENT surgeon. Sometimes the piercing itself could have caused infection.
