What Is The Painful Lump On Skull Which Hurts By Movement?
Hello I found a painful lump on the bottom of my skull between right ear and middle its a bout pea size and very tender to touch, also hurts when I move my head any direction, other symptoms not sure if related or not. Severe fatigue, my coordination is off, been dropping stuff. If I stand up to fast I get dizzy, my neck under the lump is stiff and also very painful. This really worries me What could this be? Hi! Good evening. I am Dr Shareef answering your query.
The very fact that the lump is painful points it to be of inflammatory either primary or secondary to any other possibly benign lesion. It is more likely to be an inflamed lymph node as I suppose and there has to be an inflamed focus for it. This could be known only by a detailed physical examination. Therefore, I would advise you to get yourself examined by your family physician, who might advise you for a course of antibiotics and an anti inflammatory drug for a few days. If it does not respond, then he might advise you for a FNAC or open biopsy of the lesion for a histopathological diagnosis and further management.
I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts.
Thanks for choosing health care magic to clear doubts on your health problems. I wish you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
