What Is The Permanent Cure For Dry Cough During Winter?

every winter i begin to cough when it gets cold, and the cough lasts months until spring when the weather warms up. it's a dry cough but very annoying. i have gone to my physician every year and he thinks it's an allergy to dust. he had my lungs checked and they are fine. i use an inhaler but that doesn't seem to help much. cough drops usually stop the coughing. any ideas?

Hi and thanks for the query,

Dry cough can be due to allergy. You will require antihistamines along with your inhaler.

Dry cough in winter can also be due to low humidity. to combat low humidity you should use a humidifier in your room.

Other than that cough drops are the only solution.

You should also drink lots of water and avoid dehydration.

Dr Rajkishori
