What Is The Procedure For ECG?

my name is shazia. i am a 12 year old asian girl my gp said i have a mermur in the heart and said for me to do a ecg. what is that? what do i do with that? do i have to undress fully for that? i have slight difficulties in breathing sometimes. YYYY@YYYY .

I am sorry to hear that you have a heart murmur. Your doctor has recommended that you get an ECG. An ECG stands for echocardiogram. You will need to undress on your top. A technician will use a device at place it on your chest with a gel. The gel helps sound waves to go into your chest and visualize your heart. This is the same thing that mothers do to look at their babies. There is no pain involved and it will last less than an hour.
