What Is The Prognosis After The Surgical Placement Of A Kidney Stent?

Thank you. My sister had a large kidney stone. They did the blasting and she did great for two days. Last night she got severely ill and went to ER. There was a stone that got stuck. She is in surgery now having a stint put in? Do you know what the recovery will be? I am debating rather I need to fly down to help? Will she most likely go home today?

Hi,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com.
I had gone through your question I can understand about your sister.
Some times pieces of stone stuck in uriter or opening of urethra as happened to your case. There is no need to worry. After stunt is placed she will be relaxed too.
To check the flow of urine and to avoid any post surgical complication she may need to stay in hospital for one or two days if necessary.
You must not be so anxious.
