What Is The Prognosis For A Person Infected With Flesh Eating Bacteria?

I have a friend in ICU with a flesh eating infection (sorry I dont know the spelling of what it is called) but they have had to remove an arm, brest and a large part of her stomach. They are saying that it is eating 1 - 2 inches of her per hour and that she is now looking at loosing her legs. she is on a resporator and alot of IVs and drainage tubes. what is a persons chances of suriving this type of infection?
