my 85 year old aunt went to the Dr. on Fri, she was referred to a cardiologist on Mon., and scheduled for open heart surgery the next day. She had almost complete blockage, very difficult breathing, high blood pressure, overweight, but otherwise pretty good health. What is her prognosis

Hello

I understand your concern and I would like to tell you that prognosis depends on lot of things like age presence of diabetes, heart function any kidney or lung disease. All these things deteriorate the prognosis especially in patients above 70 years of age.
