Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am curious about the prognosis, i.e. expected symptoms for someone diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy due to alcoholism, also mitral valve regurgitation, ejection fraction of about 30%, atrial fibrilation; he abstained briefly, for about 7 months, less 2 one-week lapses, and has since resumed alcohol consumption.
hi welcome to HCM.. You should quit alcohol and smoking..Dilated cardiomyopathy with ejection fraction 30 percent has poor prognosis..you should be well controlled .maintain blood pressure regularly.continue you medication regularly..consult cardiologist for expert management.thankyou
