What Is The Prognosis For Heart Attack With Chest Blockage?

Hi Doc! This is a query regarding my grandfather who is on ventilator for the past 10 days. He had a heart attack on Tuesday 26th April. Since then he is on ventilator. Doctors informed us that he had a chest blockage due to cough which lead to heart attack

That depends on a lot of factors. If your grandfather was healthy to begin with, they may be able to wean him off the ventilator at some point. I would need a lot more information regarding test results, medical history, etc. to help you.

HI
Well come to HCM
If he is in hospital and under the treatment then with the right treatment and good nursing care the prognosis would be good, now for the heart attack he may need either angioplasty or by pass surgery depends upon the severity of block, cough may not be the reason of attack, take care.
