What Is The Prognosis Of A Man Suffering Who Is Completely Swollen, Bleeding In Spots, No Bladder Or Bowel Control, Passing Dark Orange Urine?

My fiancé is 72 and just got diagnosed with CHF. He is completely swollen, cannot walk, legs and arms are dark red and are bleeding in spots, he cannot talk because of severe shortness of breath, his skin is yellow, he has lost all his weight. I think he is dying. He will not go to hospital. Should the kids and I force him? he has no control of bladder or bowel , has dark orange urine, diahhrea and is not eating, only drinking powerade. He is not sleeping either. He finally got carried to emerg on xmas but refused to stay. He went to cardiologist but would not let me go and came home with lots of meds. His son is tall and carries him everywhere. I want to send him to hospital. Is he going to pas away soon. This is two months now.

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hi there,

Thanks for your query.

I think that- in addition to CHF- he is also suffering from Liver failure (which accounts for bleeding spots and dark orange urine) with brain involvement (loss of bowel and bladder control). Prognosis is really grave.

His condition is very serious and will deteriorate rapidly, if he is not hospitalized immediately.

If you find my response helpful and informative, do not forget an “excellent” (5-star rating) to my answer, to ENCOURAGE ALL doctors- engaged in social service- to render sound advice to the FREE queries.

Take care
