What Is The Prognosis Post Removal Of An Intestinal Polyp?
hello dr. i have a male freind who has had a colonoscopy plus some fatty tissues were removed from his upper right side of abdomen.He had a piece of his intestines cut out because of a polyp. He had a prostate exam plus was taking antibiotics for over a month. He went back to the dr. and now they have to do some extensive tests on him. Could this be a very serious condition going on?

hi..you did not provided which tests were done advised by doctor..
first of all you must go for histopathological examination of polyp specimen..there by you come to know whether polyp is of bening or malignant in nature..
if its bening then dont worry..it will no problematic and that surgery had cure it.
but if it ia malignant thene further test for type of polyp , its aggressiveness , family history must be evaluated..and accordingly treatment given..
