What Is The Prolonged Numbness And Tingling In My Fingers?

I fell asleep for about 20 minutes and woke up with my right thumb and forefinger very asleep. I wasn't worried, I thought I just slept on it funny...however it won't go away. I got up, walked around kept flexing my fingers and thumb..sometimes the tingling goes to my elbow. It is definitely getting better but it is not perfect...should I be concerned if it does not go away?
