In both the phases Vitamin pyridoxine is supplemented to prevent inflammation of the nerves caused by one of the components Isoniazide. During the follow up and at the end of the treatment patient is again subjected to sputum examination, ESR and chest x ray. If the sputum examination is negative on three different occasions, then patient is referred to as non contagious or non infective.
