What Is The Reason For Blood From The Vagina After Sex?

Me and my boyfriend had sex the other night, and he said it hurt when he put his penis inside of me.Today he told me that he saw blood on his penis after us having intercorse. We do not see eachother that much, since we live some hours apart, sometimes 2 days in the week or less, so can't imagine that it is because we are having "too much" sex.
What do you think it can be?

Hello,
It is possible from the description you have given that the blood may have issued from the penis as well since your partner felt the tenderness during the intercourse. Another possibility is that it may have issued from any part of the vagina, cervix or a polyp or an erosion. The exact cause can only be understood after a clinical exam of both of you. If it is from the penis, treatment must be given after investigation for infections etc. If it is from you, swab tests, pap smear and urinalysis help to have further management. Hope this helps.
