What Is The Reason For Low Level Of Hemoglobin On 34th Week Of Pregnancy?

Hello Doctor I am in my 34rth week of pregnency and the issue is that last month my hemoglobin was 10.70 ( ie in 7th month) i concentrated on my iron diet and other stuff but again in this month 8th month i got my cbc done and my hb has falled to 10.00 in my 1st timester my hb was 13 which was good

Dear member,
low hb in 34 week is because of continued utilisation of iron for baby needs. Sometimes all iron consumed in diet is not absorbed.
also it is important to check whether it is iron deficiency anemia as any other reason. A complete blood count, peripheral smear, serum ferrtin, Will give a better idea. Also check whether you are losing small amounts blood via bleeds in gums or piles as both r common in pregnancy.
