What Is The Reason For Neck Pain And Feeling Of Throat Obstruction?

my father(61 yrs) is having neck pain.it s about 3-4 years.there was nothing wrong in his x-ray and other reports.now he complains that he feels like something present in his throat.can you please tell me what are the investigations should be done to fine this matter?

Hello,
At the age of 61, there are plenty causes we have to suspect ranging from simple irritation to cancer.
Some times irritation by acid reflex may also cause throat irritation.
Infection, enlarged tonsils are few other causes which may cause feels like something in throat apart from cancers.

It is better to have through physical examination by OtoRhinoLaryngologist (ENT) before planning any investigation.
He may advise x-ray neck, thyroid tests, upper GI Endoscopy, Bronchoscopy, Throat swab for culture Based on findings in physical examination.
If he suspects any cancer, small tissue will be taken from the mass and will be sent for pathological examination to rule out any cancer.
