What Is The Reason For Sore Nipples, Throwing Up, Continuous Spotting After Getting Depo Shot?

Well I have been on the depo for about 4 years and I just got my shot the other day and as soon as I got the shot 4 hours later my nipples are really sore and I have thrown up sometimes in the morning lately. Also where I originally get my shot at thinks I should switch birth control because I had spotting through out the last 2 months so do u think I might be pregnant? Or can explain this?

Hello ma'am and welcome.

Such a presentation soon after the depo shot can be explained by a sudden change in hormone levels and would be a normal reaction to the shot.

As for the chances of pregnancy, based on presentation, history and current menstrual status, a pregnancy test would be advised by your doctor. This shall also be taken care of during your doctors visit.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
