What Is The Reason For Weakness In Legs, Inadequate Lung Capacity After Quad Bypass And Also Having Psoriatic Arthritis?

My spouse takes Enbrel for psoriatic arthritis and has had quad bypass. Had been running 3 miles but in thepast month he says it seems his lung capacity is less and he feels it makes his legs feel weeak. Is unable tto run 1 1/2 even.heart doc says all sounds good with heart. Any ideas

Dear patient,

Thanks for the query. My suggestion would be to obtain a cardiopulmonary oxygen consumption exercise test, which would tell us if it is the heart, the lungs or deconditioning what is causing the shortness of breath. Other types of stress testing with imaging of the heart, such as a stress echo may be reasonable as well.
