What Is The Reason Of Having Heavy Periods?

I'm 50 years old. In May I had a period that last 3 weeks. In June I didn't have a period. Early in July I started my period, and I have been on my period for 3 1/2 weeks. Sometimes it is so heavy I'll bleed through a tampon in a short period of time. Why is this happening?

OB & GYN Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

It may be due to menopausal symptoms also. It may varying symptoms during menopause. If you are bleeding heavily then you consult a gynecologist for tome being to either reduce or stop the bleeding. Have a hemoglobin checked since you were bleeding heavily. Take some multi vitamin and iron tablets since there will be some kind of fatigue and tiredness.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
