What Is The Recovery Period For Hardware Removal In Wrist?

Hi, I am a fit and healthy 28 year old and I have a metal plate in my wrist which needs to be removed. I was wondering how long it will take to fully recover? How long will it take for me to be able to exercise again (i.e. ride a bike, go to the gym)? Thanks
