What Is The Recovery Time For Comatose Patient On Feeding Tube?

my dad is in the hospital on life support several states away and I need to know if he could possibly recover. He was beat in the head with a brick repeatedly and was found not breathing. Now he is on life support in a coma on a feeding tube and he has already lost his bowls. I just need to know if you think this something someone could recover from.
