What Is The Remedy For Big Lump With Pus And Blood On The Butt?

Hey I have a bad problem, the problem started with a very painful pimple on my butt cheek, I tried to pop it so it would hurt anymore but the next day it got bigger and swell up, I ignored it but it still hurt! The next day the swelling became very hard and painful to the slightest touch. People have accidentally bumped into it and it now hurts very bad to the point where it s painful to walk, it now oozes puss mixed with blood. It gets bigger and bigger everyday, it s been 4 days and it s very uncomfortable to even sit down. Please help me out, what could this be??

Hello and welcome to healthcaremagic

I have gone through your query and I have understood it.

This is a boil/Furuncle.

A Boil or a Furuncle is actually bacterial infection of/ about the hair follicles often associated with surrounding cellulitis. The infection gaining entry through the hair follicle.

If I was the treating doctor I would have suggested an oral antibiotic for a week.

My choice of oral antibiotic would have been either:

Amoxycillin 500mg in combination with clavulanic acid 125 mg, thrice daily for a week

OR

Cephalexin 500 mg thrice daily for a week

OR

Cefadroxil 500 mg twice daily for a week.

An OTC topical antibacterial e.g 2% Mupirocin twice daily can be applied over the boil.

An OTC pain killer e.g Ibuprofen 400mg (bruffen tablets) twice or thrice daily, would provide symptomatic relief from pain and swelling.

If the boil continues to enlarge and becomes fluctuant and soft, it may need to be incised to drain away the pus.

Hope this helps
Regards
