General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, The clogging of ears may arise from- -Common cold /sinusitis resulting in eustatian tube blockage.- This needs addition of antiallergic medicine with decongeststant/anti inflammatory preparation in combined form along with antibiotic. You can add vapour inhailation with this. - Travel by air creates change in atmosphearic pressure resulting in clogging - chewing chewing gum/yawning movement helps at the spot. -water in ear (while swimming),may cause clogging ear / self cleaniing of ear with a stick, hair pin etc lead to external & middle ear infection which needs a prolonged treatment with proper antibiotic along with other medicines. You need to consult an expert ENT doctor for advice Thanks.
