What Is The Remedy For Dark Circles After The Use Of Accutane?

DARK CIRCLES - I'm going to tell you a little bit about how I got my dark circles :( and I was hoping after I do you could email me back or text me about what you think is causing them, and a treatment option.

Growing up I NEVER had a circle dark circle under my eyes. When I was about 14 I had awful cystic acne on my chest, after years of trying different treatments for my acne I finally tried accutane at the age of 16.

Accutane virtually removed almost all of my acne in less than 4 months. It did give me huge pores in my tzone arena though, which is now making me feel almost as insecure. But a few months after accutane is when I started to get dark circles. Now they are really bad, and they seem to almost get worse every day. I am getting enough sleep. I go to bed at 10 and wake up at 7 averagely. It started as mild like only on one eye almost. Now my circles are so bad you they are like black/purplish flushes under both of my eyes. My eyes are usually itchy and my nose was always stuffed before I started taking claitin. Now my nose isn't stuffed up but my eyes are still itchy, and I have black circles every day no matter what. It sucks, its awful and I would do anything to get rid of them and get it back to how it used to be. Accutane may have cleared my acne but it gave me horrible dark circles and huge pores. I've tried lightning creams for my dark circles, they didn't work. My dermatologist says I should wait and my pores will get smaller and I won't notice my dark circles, but every day i notice them more and they get worse. My pores have not gotten any better either. I feel terrible about myself and would really like any help or advice you could offer. I don't drink a lot of water but I've been trying to drink more per day. I've never tried cucumbers, or anything natural. I am 16 years old.

Thank you for any advice

Hi. Thanks for posting your concern at HCM

Accutane is an anti acne drug and is not related to formation or development of dark circles.

Dark circles are constitutional in some people and people who are atopic/allergic have some dark circles inherently.

Apart from this working for long hours on computers, watching TV for long hours, lack of regular adequate sleep can exacerbate already existing dark circles.

There are a lot of over the counter creams for dark circles but none is claimed to be 100% effective. You can try some of these cream along with general measures such as avoiding working for long hours on computers, having a regular sleep for 6-8 hours daily.

regards
