ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi, you seem to be suffering from sensory neural hearing loss and tinnitus along with that. The cause is usually a problem with the auditory nerve usually and a pure tone audiometry will put more light on the problem. Ear examination by an ENT will help in ruling out any cause related with ear drum which is less common with similar presentation. A less common condition is otitis media with effusion which can also produce similar symptoms but there will be conductive hearing loss. A normal ear drum with decreased bone conduction points to sensory neural hearing loss. A hearing aid with tinnitus matching helps in solving both the problems of hearing loss and tinnitus in nerve deafness cases. Regards
