What Is The Remedy For Flatulence And Belching Due To Hiatus Hernia?

For quite a few years now (I m 59 yrs old) I have had lots of flatulence and belching. I have been diagnosed with a hiatus hernia for which I take omniprazole but I still belch a lot. The flatulence is really getting me down as it is so often (a lot more than the average, but most of the time it doesn t smell) What can I take to ease the flatulence problem

Dear Friend.
Welcome to HCM. I am Dr Anshul Varshney. I understand your concern.
The treatment depends on the grade of hiatus hernia.
In case it is extensive then surgery may be indicated.
As such, observe following things:
1. Take a combination of Pantoprazole and Domperidone instaed of taking plain Omeprazole.

2. To take soft, bland diet

3. To take frequent small meals instead of 3 major heavy meals.

4. To walk after you take your meals.

5. Keep a pillow below your neck when you sleep.

This is my personal opinion for you based on available details. If you have any further query please ask me.
