What Is The Remedy For Hair Fall When On Minoxidil?
Sir i have been having hair fall for the past 1 month and i was suggested minoxidil 2% solution and nector and rejuhair tablets by my dermatologist, my hair has become thin, but i see reduction in hair loss, but it has not stopped completely...i have been on these medicines for the past one month, but i don't see any regrowth, bcz the density of my hair has drastically come down....so my query is will these definitely be helpful in stopping my hair fall and help me out in hair regrowth, so u cld suggest me out with something else...
Minoxidil is a non specific hair growth promoter and promotes the transition of hair from resting phase to growth phase(Anagen) and is the drug of choice in female with Androgenetic Alopecia. If hair loss is due to other causes like Telogen Effluvium then it is unlikely to benefit much.
Sometimes females have both Telogen effluvium as well as Androgenetic alopecia both of which require to be treated simultaneously.
If i was your treating doctor i would have wanted to know your Iron status by Serum Ferritin levels as well as your thyroid status which would rule out the two most important causes of Telogen effluvium in females.
Further management would be guided by the test results. If any of these tests are deranged then correcting them might be useful in arresting your hair fall.
take care regards
