What Is The Remedy For Hematuria?
I was diagnosed with pneumonia and took this medication. Levaquin 750mg once a day. I did this for 4 days. At 3 days I had blood in the urine. I called the doctor yesterday and did not take any more. I was on a 7 day regiment.
As 1 % of patient have kidney issues with this medication. The doctor ordered azithromycin 250mg to take 2 today and one a day for the next 4 days. The pharmacist stated that the drug would linger in the system for about 10 days after the meds. I don't take any meds. Im 64 years old. I've never had a pneumovax shot. So I stayed home from work today pushed fluids especially water, effer c at 1000mg. How do I resolve the hematuria. I haven't taken the new med yet tonight. The pharmacist said I shouldn't skip a day or two and take them tonight.
I'm not having any lower back or kidney pain or pain when I urinate. What to do next? Thanks Kathy

Painless hematuria without any pain could require keen attention. the first phase in the evaluation process however is a proper diagnosis. It is important to distinguish a color change caused by drugs from a proper blood in urine. Drinking lots of water and tranexemic acid to stop bleeding could be useful initial steps.
