My daughter who is 25 years old, used to have sporatic periods -- 1 every 3 months or 6 months that might last anywhere from 3-7 or 8 days. Then she started about a year and a half ago having a continual period. These can be exceptionally heavy or very light, but never stops. She has tried various types of birth control pills, a UDI (I think), shots, and the periods never stop. They did get lighter for a little while during which time she was taking a double dose of birth control pills during the days before and during the placebo pills. No she is back having their light to average periods or "over-the-top" periods that have yet to stop, even for a day or two. Her hormones are so out of wack that she is on a horrible roller coaster ride day in and day out. Is there any type of vitamin supplement that she can take to try and help the hormones? And is there anything else for her to try as far as birth control to bring these periods into a regular cycle? She did lose about 60 pounds and had her gall bladder removed a little over a year ago. She is active and eats a regular diet? Any suggestions would be appreciated! I am only her mom, but want to try and help her.
