What Is The Remedy For One Eye Looking Smaller And Losing Near Vision After An IOL Surgery ?
Dear Doctor , My eyesight was -5.00 for both eyes. I have undergone IOL eye surgery only for my right eye in 2010. They have placed a lens inside my eye permanently. For the other eye, I am using contact lens . For the operated eye, though my far vision improved, i started losing my near vision gradually. After the surgery i had +0.5, and now it is +3.0. Also the operated eye is looking smaller than the other. I am very much disappointed, please suggest if there is a remedy for this.
after surgery everybody lose there accomodative power so its not new that your power is increased after surgery.Anybody after surgery has to wear +2.5 or 3 D lens for near vision if monofocal lens is placed. With new lenses like multifocal if they are placed then only the chance is there that you can get rid of glasses but result vary from person to person. So need not to worry, as you are myopic earlier you were enjoying having less power for near vision.donot worry

Advanced level of iol surgery is usually very rewarding. In the other eye you should have a foldable iol.usually a good iol surgery leads to a stable vision.smaller eye is due to fat atrophy at the back of eye.To prevent this you can have surgery under topical anaesthesia where no injection is given.
