My Son has a rash on his body. It looks like sunburn but it cannot be that. He has been in pool a lot over last four days and taken a lot of warm baths. Might just be heat rash but he has had it for over 4 days. It is all over but really bad on thighs.he complains it is burning him
Your son may be having miliaria. There may be very small reddish elevated lesions..prickly heat. There may be stinging sensation, burning and itching. If untreated, it may be infected with bacteria causing pustules..pyodema. The cause woud be heat in swimming pool, sun exposure and hot water bath. You consult dermatologist for firm diagnosis. Soothing lotion like calamine lotion or clotrimazole dusting powder may be applied. Antihistaminic like levocetirizine may be given to relieve itching. If needed antibiotics may be given. Vitamin C tablet may be given to improve the lesions.advise him to wear cotton clothes. Avoid soap bath. Dettol liquid may be used for bath. I think, he might be alright. I hope you got my answer.
Thanks.
