What Is The Remedy For Red Rashes On My Wrist And Dry Skin Between My Fingers?
Hi, I have a small red rash on my wrist, it's very small and in a line that looks like where a bracelet would go. I think it came from the cold but im not sure. It isn't going away and ive had it since about December. I also have really dry skin in the corner between my pointer finger and middle finger in the crease. When I put lotion on it just gets dry again and is super red why wont it go away? Any suggestions?
The rash on wrist could be due to Allergic contact dermatitis(ACD) to Nickel(present in bracelets, wrist watch bands) Or it could be tinea. I would keep a possibility of tinea in the finger web/crease.
A KOH scrapping from the rash on wrist and finger web spaces would help to confirm the diagnosis. In case ACD holds true, then, in such a case as a treating doctor i would have asked you to apply a topical moderately potent steroid cream on the rash at wrist twice daily for a week or 10 days.
An Oral antihistamine e.g cetrizine once daily would help in symptomatic relief from itching.
Avoiding the cause of ACD(Bracelet or wrist watch band) and avoiding wet work are general measures which should be followed in your case.
take care regards

Hi. Thanks for posting your concern at HCM The rash on wrist could be due to Allergic contact dermatitis(ACD) to Nickel(present in bracelets, wrist watch bands) Or it could be tinea. In case ACD holds true, then, in such a case as a treating doctor i would have asked you to apply a topical moderately potent steroid cream on the rash at wrist twice daily for a week or 10 days. A topical antifungal cream containing clotrimazole can be used in for Tinea(fungal infection), twice daily for 4 weeks along with an oral anti-fungal e.g fluconazole once every week for 4-6 weeks. An Oral antihistamine e.g cetrizine once daily would help in symptomatic relief from itching.
