What Is The Remedy For Redness On Scalp After Hitting The Aluminium Rod?

Hello Dr. Christensen, I hit an aluminum pipe pretty hard on the side of my head about 7 hours ago. It is still bright / red on my scalp but there was no external bleeding. I feel fine but my husband says every time he touches the side of my head that I hit it s very hot while the other side is normal to the touch. Do I need to be concerned about it? Thank you in advance.

Hi,

You have developed hematoma. Consult the surgeon to get proper management. I would recommend you cold compresses.. which may reduce the swelling. Take a course of antibiotic and anti inflammatory drugs for a week.
