What Is The Remedy For Severe Headaches When On OTC Pain Medicines?

My 17 year old daughter has been having severe headaches for over a week. They begin in her temples and radiate to the top of her head. At times it is almost not tolerable. OTC pain meds lessen them some but the pain does not go away. We went to the local urgent care facility and the doctor on call ordered an MRI for this morning. We had the MRI done and was sent back to the Urgent Care doctor. As of 5 this afternoon the doctor who was suppose to read the MRI had not done so and we were told we would have to wait until Monday for the results. Meantime, they gave me a copy of the the CD with the images (not a great idea b/c I will do research). On several images there are areas that concern even my untrained eye. I wish I could attach a few of the images. My question is what can we do in the meantime for her pain and should we seek other medical advice with quicker results?
